WE’RE TIRED OF UNEQUAL PAY!
Just to catch up to what a white male earned in 2017, Latinas need to work all the way into November 2018. African-American women need to work into July. White women need to work until April 17. Average all women’s income and the date is April 10 – designated Equal Pay Day for all women.

Rochester NOW and the Greater Rochester Area Branch of AAUW has planned three events on this day to protest this economic injustice.

Unhappy Hour 5 – 6 pm: Show how unhappy we are about unequal pay by carrying signs (bring your own or use one of ours) along East Avenue (across the street from the Perkins Mansion). Wear red to symbolize “seeing red” over unfair pay. The Unhappy Hour will end with a cash bar inside the Perkins Mansion.

Dinner (Optional) 6 – 7 pm: Join AAUW for its monthly dinner. RSVP by April 5 to Kim Frarey at 455-0477 or email kfrarey@aauw-rochester.org. Cost: $25.

Program 7 – 7:45 pm: Mohini Sharma and Nadine Morsch, both Restaurant Worker Organizers with Metro Justice, will talk about One Fair Wage, the fight for a minimum wage for tipped workers.

The Equal Pay Day events are also supported by COPE (Coalition for Pay Equity) and Public Policy of AAUW. Contact Rochester NOW at info@rochesternow.org or 585-512-8801 with questions.

Open to the public. Free. Accessible. Reserve child care by calling 585-512-8801.
