Susan B Anthony House – Ceremonial Wreath Hanging

The National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House will continue the tradition of the ceremonial wreath hanging on the front steps of 17 Madison Street. The brief ceremony commemorates the 115th anniversary of Susan B. Anthony’s death and will include remarks by Anthony Museum President & CEO, Deborah L. Hughes.

At Anthony's request, much of the ceremonial mourning of the day was not observed: no shades were drawn, no black crepe hung. Only a simple wreath of violets was placed on the front door.
